The objective of the Major is to raise many professionals in the field of biotechnology and bioengineering.By learning basic literature such as biochemistry, molecular genetics, microbiology, and organic chemistry, as well as applied studies such as genetic engineering, biochemical engineering, and fermentation engineering, as a study that uses and applies biological systems, including microorganisms and animal and plant cells. By cultivating the ability to understand the acquired theory through various experimental practices, we are cultivating professional manpower necessary for biological engineering research, biological industry, and fisheries.

For this, students might study fundamental scientific principles, techniques and their applications. There are many academic courses; biochemistry, organic chemistry. biochemical engineering, enzymology. fermentation technology, environmental engineering, molecular biology, microbiology and genetic engineering. Biological engineering majors consist of biotechnology and biological processes, and are advanced studies leading the post-genome era of 21C.

Biological engineering-related industries are developing into various biological industries such as biopharmaceuticals, biological electronics, biochemicals, biological foods, biological agriculture, and biological environments.


With the completion of the Human Genome Project in February 2001 with 99% human Genome detoxification, rapid growth is expected, and it is the highest growth among the high-tech industries that will determine national competitiveness in the 21st century. Biochemistry, gene recombination, cell fusion, natural product chemistry, etc. are the areas of biochemistry, biochemistry, fermentation engineering, bio-environmental engineering, and bio-engineering are the areas of bioengineering, and the goal is to cultivate excellent human resources who can contribute to the reversal of bioengineering in industries and research institutes such as food, energy precision chemical industry, pharmaceuticals (creation of new substances) and environmental industry after graduation from college.
