The 21st century is the era of the Blue Ocean, and it can be said that important issues for human survival, such as future food support, marine biodiversity, and global environmental changes, begin with the understanding and use of the sea. Therefore, if you do not know the sea, you may fall behind in the competition for leadership in the industry since then.

Under the educational goal of "cultivating human resources for the development of the marine life industry in the 21st century," the Department of Resource Biology teaches various basic and applied resources such as ichthyology, invertebrate zoology, marine botany, animal physiology, embryology, marine ecology, aquatic resources, and floating biology, with an emphasis on education in the field of marine biological resources necessary for the efficient development, conservation, and management of marine life resources. Based on these studies, it discovers, preserves, and manages marine life resources and suggests efficient ways to use them in response to changes in the marine environment.

Furthermore, through the general graduate school (the Department of Marine Biology) and the industrial graduate school (the Department of Biological Resources), we are producing professionals who can enter the field of industrial, academic, and interdisciplinary convergence of marine life resources. We have also opened a graduate school of education (biological education major) course to train professional teachers who can work in secondary and higher education institutions. After graduation, we are entering various fields such as research, administration, and educational institutions in the marine life field, and other water and marine-related companies.

For systematic education and research, it operates eight laboratories in each major academic field (aematology laboratory, ornithology laboratory, fisheries and oceanography laboratory, reproductive endocrine laboratory, marine ecology laboratory, molecular physiology laboratory, ichthyology laboratory, and animal husbandry laboratory) and has various laboratory attachments such as a cold and hot refrigerator, a low temperature room, a culture room, a constant temperature and humidity room, a biometric room, a microscope room, and a photography room.

The Sea, an infinite treasure of resources in the 21st century! Let's open the future together by becoming a high-quality professional in marine life from the Department of Resource Biology!
